BURNSVILLE, MN - It's raining iPads at Lancet Software. Recently all Lancet employees received iPads to stay on the cutting edge using the latest technology tools, especially in providing mobile data to customers. The 13-year-old company provides an array of Business Intelligence (BI) services for Fortune 500 as well as medium- and small-sized organizations, including the creation of Dashboards, Scorecards, Data Warehouses, analytics, and key business performance indicators. Lancet has helped companies of all sizes in healthcare, retail, manufacturing, financial services and other industries maximize their return on data.

According to one Lancet's "co-founders," Tom Niccum, president, the iPads were given to everyone on staff, including our Human Resources, Sales, and Marketing professionals to help drive creativity and innovation at every level of the company, including the ability to create mobile platforms for the delivery of decision-influencing data.

"Our management team decided that if we were going to continue to do leading-edge work that our staff would need the best available tools to produce that work, and who knows what else will come of it? The iPad is a powerful device - more powerful than a desktop computer of just a few years ago. Already staff is talking about becoming a paperless meeting environment by using it, but more importantly many see the highly portable, always-connected devices as a force multiplier for generating more productivity internally and more business development externally with current and prospective customers." Lancet's strategic BI partner, MicroStrategy also gave away iPads to their employees, as it makes a huge push into mobile delivery of Business Intelligence, complete with recent New York Times ads. "We're keeping abreast of - if not helping to create - the trend toward mobile delivery," Niccum added.

Customers and Employee Reactions "Extremely Positive" at One of Area's Best Places to Work

Niccum says the reaction from staff and customers has been "extremely positive. Our employees are very excited. Customers also have been impressed that we've been able to show them the future of BI applications already. And having all our employees on iPads certainly enhances our image with our customers as being willing to invest in staying ahead and leading the way in new technology adoption. The all-iPad staff will eventually enhance all of our current and future services and solutions."

Its outstanding performance over the past three years - during the height of the deep recession - made it one of the "Fast 50" growth companies in the 2010 Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal.
