REPORT DEFINATION DOCUMENT (RDD)
The purpose of this document is to define the individual features/requirements for each report or group of reports in the product. Lancet’s Report Definition Document has been highly tailored for use with MicroStrategy’s tool suite, but could be easily adopted for other reporting tools as most of the same components are necessary regardless of the tool being used.

It includes the following:

  • Report name and description
  • Output and navigation
  • Description of the layout of the report and example
  • Column specifications
  • Attribute Specifications
  • Metric specifications
  • Sort, grouping and totaling information
  • Selection criteria
  • Detailed descriptions for user documentation
  • User education (target user and how they would use it)
