FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Third-time win underscores company’s open-book culture, top employee benefits and stronger ties to clients. LANCET™ SOFTWARE AGAIN NAMED “GREAT PLACE TO WORK” BY THE MINNEAPOLIS ST. PAUL BUSINESS JOURNAL.
BURNSVILLE, MINN., -- August 18, 2006 – Employees – even the ones on long assignments on either coast – love coming to work for Lancet Software, which provides business intelligence to retail, healthcare and financial service industries and web design, maintenance and hosting for small-to-medium sized companies. Now Lancet’s open book culture -- complete with shared, 360-degree financial statements and job reviews, open planning meetings about company growth and an award-winning benefits package -- has been validated once more. Today The Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal named Lancet as a “Great Place to Work” in its annual survey of employees at companies of all sizes. More than 200 companies participated in the application process and survey, the largest ever for the award.

The award marks the third time in five years that Lancet Software has been recognized as a Great Place to Work. A luncheon at The Minneapolis Hotel will honor the winners on September 21. Earlier this year, Lancet was also recognized with the Minnesota Work-Life Champions Silver Award from The Center for Ethical Business Cultures for its employee-friendly work environment.

According to Lancet president, Tom Niccum, Lancet has more than 25 employees, with over 60% of the company having tenure of seven years or more and a turnover rate of less than 5% -- even during the dotcom boom when the IT turnover rate was averaging 25%. The Principal Financial Group® named Lancet one of "The Principal 10 Best Companies in the nation for its Employee Financial Security," based on its dedication to its employees’ excellent benefits, including a package worthy of many Fortune 100 companies.

"The Great Places to Work Award proves again that Lancet’s Open Book culture fosters greater connection with its employees – and its clients – with open job reviews and shared monthly financial statements, both of which foster more trusting relationships within the organization," says Niccum. “"n such an environment employees better understand how business works at Lancet and provides a sense of shared ownership. Our innovative employee model helps recruit and retain the best talent. And our clients readily benefit, too: They know Lancet personnel will be there long after a project is completed."
